SEMMantics 40 Talk: Making Sense of Terrorism and the Changing Middle East

At SEMMantics 40, Jim Marcinkowski will be giving a talk on the basic tenets of both terrorism and Middle East politics that will seek to provide you with the analytical tools necessary to understand and perhaps make some sense out of this extremely complex area of international relations.

Marcinkowski began a thirty-eight year career in law enforcement and national security with Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI).  He then served as an Operations/Intelligence specialist with the U.S. Navy and later joined the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) where he was trained and served overseas as a clandestine Operations Officer. He has appeared as a commentator on national news venues such as the CNN, CBS News’ 60 Minutes, Fox News, NPR News and MSNBC.  He is currently an adjunct professor at Wayne County Community College District where he established the Homeland Security degree program.

New this year we will have an experienced line dance teacher who ought to be a Mensan. She will teach and demonstrate how to do it, then we join in. Her classes are always popular and energetic.

No partner is needed for any of these activities. Just come as you are to work off some calories while doing something fun.
